1. Warm up
Set up a stable tempo you like and repeat the same pattern and fingerings following the circle of fifths. The exercise consistently engages a major and its parallel minor: C major/C minor, G major/G minor, D major/D minor, and so on. This exercise is completed when it comes back to the C major. Try to play each pitch clearly and distinctly. As you progress, the number of black keys increases and it gets harder. Practice until you can play with poise and continuity.
